A Black Female Medical Student

I just got the score back to the last test I took, and I passed. I was a little bit concerned about it because I felt myself falling asleep during the test. I’m just happy because my grades this quarter have just been soooo much better than they were last quarter. I feel like I’m actually on top of things now.

Hopefully I continue to improve in the next quarter, and then I can go into 2nd year starting stronger than I started this quarter.

I’m back in Chicago now, and aside from chilling with my roomie and my semi-significant other (I’m just going to call him SSO), I have just been loafing.

Tomorrow, SSO and I are going to a museum!

Tonight, I’m just going to chill at home and do laundry. And clean up. Cuz my room is a mess.

Yes. I know. I haven’t posted in forever. Actually, I just haven’t posted this entire quarter. This quarter was a bit of a challenge for me. I actually suffered a bit of a nervous breakdown sometime last month and I was a bit busy with the whole recovery thing.

So the first part of the quarter, I spent feeling helpless as I watched my life go to shambles. The second part of the quarter I spent regaining my confidence and self-esteem as I quickly built it back up. There’s not a lot of room for shambly ppl in medical school :-). Now, I’m pretty happy with my life. I’m home for spring break for the next few days, I plan to get lots of sleep, see some friends, do some shopping, and some lightweight studying.

I’m also dating someone now. He’s a classmate, and very different from everyone else I’ve dated. I guess we’ll see how it goes.

It’s March (almost April), and SPRING is almost here! Spring is probably my favorite season, and after having made it though a Chicago winter, I couldn’t be more excited.

I’m on the hunt for dresses, dresses and MORE dresses, as well as flats (as bright as you could possible make them, please) and FLIP-FLOPS. Anyone who knows me  knows I have a deep and intens love for flip-flops. They are so fun, convenient and FUN. This spring, I’m all about being flirty, feminine, and cute… from the hair, to the makeup, to the clothes and shoes.

I’m really looking forward to it.

I’ve also got quite a few projects to pull of this spring in addition to preparing for my summer research project, so I will probably be very busy.

The good thing is that I will be bringing my car back to Chicago with me next week so I will be MOBILE. Hallelujah.

Yeah… that’s the mini-update of my life thus far.
